The Southfield Fire Department is investigating a recent early morning house fire.
According to Fire Chief Johnny Menifee, dispatchers received a call regarding a fire around 12:48 a.m. June 15 at a home in the 28000 block of Aberdeen Street, near Greenfield and Catalpa.
Units from four of the city’s five fire stations arrived at the scene at 12:52 a.m., Menifee said.
“We received a call that it was a house fire with visible flames, and we arrived seeing flames from what we call the ‘delta’ side of the house, so the right side of the structure,” Menifee said.
Around 19 firefighters were on the scene, and they were able to exstinguish the flames and clear the scene within an hour, Menifee said.
According to Menifee, no one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
